🎨 Homeschool Art Class (Ages 5–teen)

Our Homeschool Art program supports creative learning, skill-building, and artistic exploration in a way that fits seamlessly into a full homeschool curriculum. Although the class includes a range of ages, students are grouped by age and interest so each child receives instruction that is developmentally appropriate, challenging, and engaging. This structure allows students to learn at a comfortable pace while still benefiting from the community feel of a shared studio space.

We explore the Elements of Art in depth—line, shape, color, value, texture, space, and form—through hands-on projects that build confidence, creativity, and artistic understanding. Students learn to communicate ideas visually, solve problems creatively, and express themselves through a wide variety of mediums.

This class intentionally supports the developmental, academic, and creative needs of homeschool learners.

Each class includes:

• A structured, skill-building project aligned with one or more of the Elements of Art

• Students grouped by age for developmentally appropriate instruction

• Exploration of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay, mixed media, textiles, and more

• Projects that blend technique, creativity, and personal expression

• A relaxed, encouraging studio environment where every artist thrives

Projects may span multiple weeks depending on age group, complexity, and student interest.

This multi-age class supports:

• Fine motor development & coordination

• Creative and critical thinking

• Visual-spatial reasoning

• Focus and perseverance on multi-step tasks

• Natural cross-curricular connections (history, literature, science themes often emerge in art!)

Art also allows students to regulate, express emotions, and engage sensory systems in a meaningful way.

Homeschool students thrive when they can:

• Participate for the full 60-minute class

• Follow age-appropriate instructions

• Work independently with guided support

• Communicate needs or ask for help

Parents are encouraged to drop off.
If staying in the studio, please note that our small space amplifies sound, which can make instruction difficult.

No Class: March 20 (Spring Break)

Make-Up Class: Friday, April 24
End-of-Semester Art Show: Wednesday, May 6
(Students will have artwork featured — families welcome!)
