Adult Watercolor Classes Spring Semester Thursdays 6:00 – 7:00pm

Join this class for a relaxing time of watercolor painting. This class will introduce the medium of watercolors to those who have never used this medium or have been afraid to try it in the past. You will learn that as you allow water to be your “friend” magical things can happen. Basic skills such as creating washes of color, building transparent layers, and how to use the brush are a few things that will be touched upon. You will learn different styles and techniques in this class, please see the schedule below for an idea of the lessons. Please note that art is fluid, and our teachers may adjust the lesson or subject to align with the artists and class.

Project focus includes about four weeks on each subject matter:

Landscapes

Florals and Fruit

Still life compositions

 

Topics Include:

• Color Theory – primary colors, secondary colors, and how to mix and blend watercolors.
• Basic watercolor painting techniques such as washes, glazes, dry-brush and wet-into-
  wet.
• Brush handling and material handling, how to set up your painting station for success.
• Artistic composition, how to design an interesting watercolor painting.

All necessary art materials will be provided, however if you have a favorite watercolor journal, paint set, and/or brushes please feel free to bring them to class.

Duration– 12 week course, with each weekly class being 1 hour.

Thursdays 6:00 – 7:00 pm 

This class will meet on these dates:

February 8, 15, 22, 29 | March 7, 21, 28 (no class March 14) | April 4, 11, 18, 25 | May 2

Cost- Full Semester Discount $375

or 3 payments of $140 auto billed every four weeks.

Signing up for this class is a 12 week commitment, we ask that if you must exit for any reason, that two weeks notice is given before the next auto bill is sent out. 

*Only one make up class will be available. This will be held Thursday, May 9th at 6pm
