🎨 Juniors Art Class (Ages 7–9)

Our Juniors program is designed for young artists who are ready to grow their skills, explore new techniques, and gain confidence through creative expression. This age group thrives on experimenting, problem-solving, and understanding how and why art works—guided step-by-step in a fun, encouraging environment.

Art at this stage strengthens fine motor control, focus, creative thinking, perseverance, and foundational technique. Juniors learn how to make intentional choices, build sequential skills, and express ideas with growing independence.

🌈 What We Do in Class

Each class includes:

• A multi-step art project that builds structure, skills, and creativity

• Techniques such as shading, blending, basic perspective, composition, and color theory

• Practice with various art mediums including acrylics, watercolor, clay, drawing tools, and mixed media

• Guided instruction with room for creative interpretation

• Supportive teaching that helps artists feel proud of their work

Projects may include painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, clay, and seasonal or thematic artwork.

🧠 How Juniors Learn Through Art

This age group is developing:

• Longer attention span & ability to complete multi-step projects

• Fine motor refinement and increasing hand–eye coordination

• Problem-solving and flexible thinking

• Confidence through mastering new skills

• Ability to work more independently while collaborating with peers

• Early technique understanding and artistic decision-making

We support these developmental skills through structured, encouraging, skill-building art experiences.

👋 Participation & Drop-Off

Most Juniors do well when they can:

• Participate for the full 60 minutes

• Follow multi-step instructions

• Work independently with guided support

• Communicate their needs or ask for clarification

Parents are encouraged to drop off. If staying in the studio, please note that our small space amplifies sound, which can make instruction difficult.

No Class: March 16 (Spring Break)

Make-Up Class: Monday, April 20
Tentative Student Art Show: Wednesday, May 6
