“Littles” Art Classes | Ages 4-6 | Mondays 5:15-6:15

This class is all about sparking curiosity, letting imaginations run wild, and giving young artists the chance to create with confidence. We keep things fun and light while introducing kids to colors, textures, and playful techniques that make art feel like magic.

To make sure every child has a positive experience, we’ve found that kids do best in this class when they can:

• Sit and participate for the full 60-minute session.

• Follow simple directions (with plenty of encouragement from us!).

• Let us know if they need something or want help.

• Feel comfortable creating in a small group, with a little independence from a parent during class.

We know the first class can feel new, so parents are welcome to stay for the first few minutes if it helps their little one settle in. Once kids warm up, they usually enjoy the independence—and we love cheering them on as they create their masterpieces!

What will students learn?

The semester includes and is not limited to:

• Exploring basic art techniques such as color theory, shading, perspective, and brushwork.
• Drawing, sketching, painting, 3D, abstract, process art and more
• Painting with different types of paint, mixing colors, experimenting with different brushes, and creating texture.
• Creative expression is encouraged! We provide a space for kids to experiment and express themselves creatively.
• Students may explore other mediums and tools depending on the project. These may include and are not limited to clay, sculpting, paper mache, fiber arts and mixed media.

What is the structure of the classes?

All of our kids’ classes are project based which means the children will be engaged in a minimum of three projects during the term. However, each project period of four weeks may be filled with multiple pieces. The time spent on each project depends completely on the needs and direction of the class. Art is fluid and we need to be the same! It is suggested that students enter the class as a full semester to secure their spot and also to give the time needed and skills learned on each piece.

*Parents are encouraged drop off students for art class. If parents/guardians stay during class, please note that we have a small studio with excellent acoustics, which can make it difficult for instructors and students to focus with voices (even quiet conversation) and noises in our waiting area.

(Sign-up required in studio to attend.)

Student Art Show:

• Wednesday, December 10

All supplies and registration are included in the price of the class.
