Pottery Class (Ages 8+)

Fall Session 2026
Wednesdays • 5:10–6:00 PM • Bespoke Art Studio 

Discover the magic of pottery in this hands-on ceramics class designed for young artists ready to create with clay! Students will learn foundational hand-building techniques while designing functional and sculptural pieces that will be professionally kiln-fired and glazed.

Working with clay encourages patience, creativity, and problem-solving while giving students the opportunity to create artwork they can use and treasure for years to come.

What We Do in Class

Each class includes:

• Hands-on pottery projects using real ceramic clay
• Instruction in hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, slab construction, and sculpting
• Texture, carving, and decorative techniques
• Glazing projects with colorful ceramic glazes
• Professionally kiln-fired artwork ready to take home

Projects may include mugs, bowls, planters, animal sculptures, wall art, seasonal pieces, and more.

How Students Learn Through Pottery

Working with clay helps develop:

• Fine motor skills and hand strength
• Patience and attention to detail
• Spatial reasoning and three-dimensional thinking
• Creative problem-solving
• Confidence through designing and completing unique ceramic pieces

Every project encourages creativity while introducing students to the exciting process of working with real ceramics.

Participation & Drop-Off

This class is recommended for ages 8 and up. Students should be comfortable:

• Participating independently for the full 50-minute class
• Following multi-step directions
• Using pottery tools safely and responsibly
• Waiting patiently through the ceramic process, including kiln firing

Parents are encouraged to drop off. If staying in the studio, please note that our small space amplifies sound, which can make instruction difficult.

Fall 2026 Session Dates

Meets Wednesdays from 5:10–6:00 PM:

August 26 | September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Please note that pottery requires drying and kiln firing between certain stages, so some projects will remain at the studio until they are ready to glaze or take home.
